LINK Mobility's climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated LINK Mobility's greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. Both our near-term, long-term targets, as well as our net-zero target, were approved in August 2026.
Our validated targets are:
Net-Zero
LINK Mobility Group Holding ASA commits to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050.
Near-Term
LINK Mobility Group Holding ASA commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 67.63% by 2036 from a 2025 base year. LINK Mobility Group Holding ASA also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 33.0% within the same timeframe.
Long-Term
LINK Mobility Group Holding ASA commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90.0% by 2050 from a 2025 base year. LINK Mobility Group Holding ASA also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90.0% within the same timeframe.
The SBTi is the body that assesses whether a company's climate targets are consistent with the level of decarbonization climate science says is required. Validation is an independent check, carried out against published criteria, which is why a growing number of our customers treat it as a meaningful signal rather than a marketing claim.
LINK submitted its commitment letter to the SBTi in 2024 and stated in its 2025 Sustainability Statement that quantitative climate targets would be set within the SBTi framework by September 2026. The validation was completed in August 2026, ahead of that commitment.

Where our emissions come from
LINK is a software business. We operate no manufacturing facilities, and our reported footprint in 2025 was 1,073.6 tons of CO2 equivalent on a market-based basis. Around 85% of that sits in Scope 3, our value chain, and is concentrated in three areas: the cloud and data centre services our platform runs on, business travel, and employee commuting.
Reductions in our own offices and vehicles are worth having, but they are not where the footprint is. In 2025, 40% of the electricity behind our Scope 2 emissions was backed by Guarantees of Origin, and we reduced Scope 1 emissions by 59% and market-based Scope 2 emissions by 29% year on year. Our total footprint rose over the same period, primarily because a review reclassified data centre emissions from Scope 2 to Scope 3 after establishing that LINK does not have operational control of those facilities.
We also have work to do on the quality of our Scope 3 data. Approximately 5.6% of it is currently based on primary data from suppliers, with the remainder estimated from spend. Improving that is a priority, and one the SBTi specifically recommended when validating our targets.
What happens next
Our approved targets appear on the SBTi Target Dashboard. We will report Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions annually in line with the GHG Protocol, publish a Sustainability Statement prepared in accordance with ESRS as part of our Annual Report, and report progress against these targets to the SBTi. LINK Mobility is also a signatory to the UN Global Compact.
