LINK Mobility to acquire Romanian SMS provider Web2SMS
LINK Mobility has signed an agreement to acquire Web2SMS, a leading Romanian communication and marketing platform specializing in SMS messaging. The acquisition expands LINK’s geographical reach in Europe and strengthens its presence in Romania, bringing the company’s market share in the country to approximately 20%.
Founded in 2004 by Antonio Eram and Felix Crișan, Web2SMS is a well-established A2P SMS provider in Romania and currently ranks as the largest player in the country by SMS volume. The platform enables businesses to enhance their customer relationships through efficient messaging strategies and delivers a high volume of SMS messages across Romania. Web2SMS maintains direct connections with all major mobile operators in the country, ensuring secure and reliable message delivery.
The company is part of NETOPIA Group, a pioneer in the Romanian technology sector that has leveraged more than two decades of expertise to deliver integrated solutions across online payments and mobile communication. In 2023, the majority stake in NETOPIA Group was acquired by Innova Capital, a leading private equity firm in Central and Eastern Europe.
