LINK Mobility Spain appoints Vicente Picó as Managing Director

Today, LINK Mobility (LINK) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Vicente Picó to the role of Managing Director Spain. Vicente assumes responsibility with immediate effect and will be responsible for driving the continued growth of the Spanish business.

Vicente has over 25-years’ experience in the messaging, payments, communications platform as a service (CPaaS) and telecoms industry. He has worked with brands including Telefonica, Orange, Sinch and most recently Worldline Global.

Vicente has proven expertise in creating innovative new revenue streams, developing high performing teams to drive year on year growth and creating market leading customer experiences for clients.

Commenting on his new role, Vicente says: “I’m very excited to join LINK as it continues to grow and innovate with new products in the Spanish market. The LINK team is perfectly positioned to grow and take advantage of exciting new advances in mobile messaging and identity, as well as capitalising on the long-established relationship it has with clients using SMS.

Winning the Juniper award for Best Rich Communication Services solution demonstrates that LINK is at the forefront of the new technologies that are leading a revolution in customer communications.”

Vicente joins the LINK team at a critical point for the Spanish business. New regulations in the financial services sector have driven innovation in the way brands can protect and validate their customers during online journeys. The explosion of customers transacting with brands online has also increased demand for innovative new messaging solutions and chatbots across multiple channels including SMS, RCS, Google Business Messaging and WhatsApp.

LINK has developed a range of simple and intuitive products that allow customers to easily deploy mobile identity and customer communications solutions across a huge range of industries and use cases.

“Key to our success will be evangelising with brands on how our new technology can improve security and customer experience,” adds Vicente. “Brands are seeking a trusted partner to support and advise them on how to integrate new messaging and security tools into their customer journeys. Most of all they want a simple one stop shop where they can access the latest innovations. We can do all that and more.”

Benoit Bole, Chief Operating Officer for the Western Europe region at LINK Mobility, welcomes Vicente to the role: “We are delighted that Vicente has joined us to lead the next phase of growth for LINK in Spain. His experience in the market is second to none and he is a passionate advocate for how technology can improve customer experience and engagement with a brand. His commitment to creating a fun and vibrant place to work perfectly matches our LINK values.”

LINK’s Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) technology is ranked as ‘an established leader’ by Juniper Research. It can support a multitude of channels including new innovations in chatbot and AI communications and can be coupled with the provision of a managed service to brands.

Last year LINK completed an acquisition of Altiria, an SMS self sign-up (SSU) provider that is the market leader providing SMS services for NGOs. Altiria has been fully integrated into the Link Mobility Spain business and LINK is now realising the full benefits of that acquisition.
